This is no joke... If you've been following the recent events in the fight world you'll know about this weekend's bout between Mosley and Mayweather. So we all know Mayweather talks a big game (he can back it up too) and always talks about how much of a draw he is to the sport. Besides being known as the "Pretty Boy", he's also known as "Money" Mayweather. This has never been more evident than in this upcoming bout.
Don't forget that tonight is the fight between Pacquiao and Clottey at the Cowboys' Stadium.
Although I'm sure everyone has their guy (you already know who I'm backing in this fight), this should make to be a good fight before the Mayweather and Mosley bout. Peep the fight on PPV or your local sports bar, I've got my Team Pacquiao shirt ready for tonight!
I know most ppl have stopped following the hype of boxing since the dream match between two of the best pound for pound fighters fell through last year.
I don't expect most of you to know that the "Pac Man" is fighting this Saturday @ the Dallas Cowboy's new facility. Pacquiao is squaring off against Clottey to defend his WBO Welterweight title.
If you're a child of hip hop then you'll understand why the title to this post is appropriate...
Rumours have been going around speculating one of the biggest fights in the world of Boxing since the Tyson vs Holyfield bout. Promoters have been working hard to get the mega fight between Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather, aka "Money" Meaweather, and Manny "The Pacman" Pacquiao. Rumours speculate a fight as early as March 2010 which if it does come into fruition will be one of the largest PPV events in history.
If you know me, I'm a bit torn considering I'm a big fan of both fighters. "Pacman" who is so humble and represents the underdog, is by far the greatest Asian boxer ever to lace up a pair of boots. "Money" Mayweather IS the greatest pound-for-pound fighter to ever step into the ring (tell me who has had a better career?) and his confidence (or cockiness) is unparalleled.
My money's on "Money" Mayweather although I wouldn't be opposed to seeing the "Pacman" come out with the victory. Kinda reminds me when the BJ Penn and GSP bout went down, you like both fighters and really don't know who you should root for...
This Friday, Roots Redemption will be holding their quarterly "Reunion" jam down @ Revival (783 College St.).
Based out of Markham, the guys from Roots Redemption focus on bringing back that feel good music. If you haven't been to a Roots Redemption jam then you're seriously missing out. All night they'll be spinning some Reggae, R&B, Soca, Hip Hop, Old School & House jams so there's something for everyone.
If you're looking for a good time this Friday night come out to Revival and check out "Reunion"!
Last night Reebok X Stolen Riches X Heineken X Red Bull hosted a special VIP invite only party at the Red Bull HQ to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Reebok Pump. The party which was located on Queen Street West was super exclusive and hosted performances by Kid Koala and the legendary Pete Rock. The who's who of the urban street wear scene were in attendance such as the folks from Livestock, Uncle Otis and of course the boys from Stolen Riches. 1LoveTO and Fez from What's Fresh were also in attendance and were mad cool, check out their sites if you haven't already!
The party started off with a local DJ spinning some jams until Cabbie took the stage and introduced MTL's Kid Koala who did his set and got the party started. Later in the night the legendary Pete Rock took the stage and just murdered it with a crazy set of old school hip hop jams starting with Tribe. Needless to say the crowd went bananas and the party kept on bumping into the night.
Without any hesitation, the "Pretty Boy" called out "Pacman" right after his win against Cotto.
Although it hasn't been confirmed, it looks like we're going to see an epic fight in the near future to really determine who is considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world of boxing.
Check out the story from Sky Sports and an interview with Mayweather here.
If you were under a rock this weekend, then you probably didn't know that the Pride of the Philippines, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao took on Miguel Cotto this Saturday in "Firepower" @ the MGM Grand in LV.
Pacman took the fight in the 12th round by TKO raising speculation that his next opponent would be the "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather. Now in the past, Mayweather has suggested that problems btw management may cause the fight to not happen. What do you think?
Who do you think has the upper hand? The undefeated Mayweather or the man most ppl consider the greatest pound-for-pound fighter, Pacquiao?
Peep the "FIREPOWER" fight this weekend hosted at the MGM Grand in LV, where The Pride of The Philippines Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KOs) takes on Miguel Cotto (34-1, 27 KOs) live on Saturday, November 14, 2009 @ 9pm.

ADDED BONUS: For those Pacman fans, check out Livestock (Gastown & Toronto locations) this Saturday for the CDN release of the Nike "Lights Out" Air Trainer 1 made to commemorate Pacman's fight against Ricky Hatton!
As always Hov brings that great energy and never disappoints with a solid set... The Blueprint 3 tour started off with J.Cole opening it up which then led to DC's own Wale... Wale always the crowd pleaser went into the crowd a couple of times during his set to interact with the crowd... After Wale's set, N.E.R.D. hit the stage with their new CDN member Rhea and pumped the crowd up even more... I don't know bout you but the ladies love Pharrell, which was apparent when he brought them all on stage during their performance of "Everybody Nose" and "Beautiful"... Finally, Jay hit the stage and as always the crowd went nuts, he spit a solid set and threw in some crazy classics as well as some new joints off that Blueprint 3 (go out and get that Blueprint 3 if you haven't already)... So I guess you're all wondering but already know that Toronto's golden child Drake also graced the stage with Jay... If you don't already know, I'm a big fan of Drizzy, his flow and wordplay is bananas and Jay agrees with me cause he let Drizzy do his thing for "Successful" on stage during the concert... That's big, remember this is a Jay-Z concert and he let a new artist (without a full length album, can't wait till it comes out) come on stage and do a track that has no affiliation with Jay... Either way can't say nothing bad bout the concert, just as solid as the last time I caught HOV with MJB in concert @ the ACC!
Shouts to my hommie J for the hookup, much respect...
Taken with that BB Bold, yes I know Al, I need a real camera; Blueprint 3 Stage Set
