NIKE - WRITE THE FUTURE

Nike is definitely stepping up their World Cup campaign. Check out the vid below which highlights Nike's new Elite Series of footy boots. When I first saw this video, the feeling that came over me was unnatural...I didn't know what to make of it. Even still, it's indescribable. The video features the likes of Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney, Ronaldo (not the fat one) and Ronaldinho, who coincidentally isn't in the Brazil squad.



Also as a treat, here is the vid directed by Guy Richie (of Snatch and Madonna fame) from a couple years back. Which one do you like better?

With Cleveland's recent loss to the Celtics in the '09/'10 NBA Playoffs, rumours are running rampant of LBJ's departure (if you've been living under a rock you should know that LeBron is a free agent come this summer).

As a result, the guys over @ Complex have come up with some of LBJ's greatest moments in Cleveland.

Does this mean that the King is leaving his hometown to be the King of New York? We'll have to wait and see...

Some new shots of the Air Jordan VI "Infrared" pack rumoured to be dropping July 2010 have hit the web.

The "Infrared" pack which resembles the style of the more recent Jordan packs released (i.e. the Raging Bulls) sport a drawer system style box and special plastic bag coverings for the shoes. These shots may only represent what the samples were released in but its still a good teaser for whats to the come.

The overall box appears to be of a black makeup w/o any visible markings and sport "Air Jordan" lettering found on the OG boxes these were originally released in (i.e. look @ the tongue of the AJ VI for an example). A lot of sneakerheads have already expressed interest in these and hope JB can finally confirm a release date. Although these look more and more like they will release don't be surprised if they're an international release like the AJ III "True Blues" which left many of our Stateside friends in the cold!

Dear Head of Nike Basketball,

Seriously? Come on Nike!

You guys REALLY use to be innovative and had some of the dopest designs out there but in recent years you've guys have seriously fallen off. I mean besides from releasing retros (which we all like and think is safe), when it comes to new products you've guys haven't been exactly killing it. I'll admit that some of your stuff is still dope (Lebrons, Hypermax and Kobes) but in terms of other basketball kicks, you guys really need to come out with something fresh!

I've always liked Nike but what I can't stand is when you guys recycle designs and try to pass it off as something new. I mean this latest design called the "Nike Air Max Wavy" looks eerily similar to the "Nike Air Max III (aka. the Garnett 3's) and the "Nike Fun Police"!

Please come out with something NEW and fresh. You owe it to your loyal fans!

OF x Santastic! – KAWS Hasheem T-Shirt...

So you already know that I'm a huge fan of Japanese SW and one of my all time favs is Original Fake.

Although the creative mind behind the brand is from the States, his designs and vision are seriously on some next level stuff. OF has decided to do a collabo with Santastic! to create the Hasheem tee. If you remember, OF released a vinyl of Hasheem a while back. OF is always known to push the bar on what's considered acceptable and this tee is no different (check out the phrase on Hasheem's jersey).

This tee is a definite banger and if you want to cop it @ retail you'll need to be in Tokyo to secure yours between May 8th - 23rd.

P i c k U p s : P A R T VI

If you've been following the blog this little while, you've probably notice a lot of coverage on the AJ XI. As most of you are already aware, the S.A. Edition of the XI's dropped this past Saturday and many were left in the dust trying to cop these bad boys. Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to score a pair of these @ retail (good looking out FL) a few days after their general release.

What more can I say about these kicks? The AJ XI is one of the most iconic sneakers out there in the game and was also voted to be the #1 sneaker of all time by Sole Collector. Who can deny the heat this sneaker brings with its patent leather upper and clear sole bottom. This sneaker is pretty serious and if you've been surfin the sneaker blogs on the net you already know how popular this model is. Although the one I copped aren't the uber rare easter egg version with the patch and jumpman, these are still really nice! If you recall, many sneakerheads were hating on the CDP XI's claiming quality issues. The build quality on this model is actually pretty good and I can't deny that JB finally put some quality back in their products.

If you're wondering, I'm not actually putting these towards my 6 (refer to "The Challenge") since I've decided to let them go. If you're interested and are a 9.5 leave me a msg, I'm selling these for 300CAD OBO.

Now I mean this section is typically reserved for legit kicks that are bit off but we had to put our followers up on this info considering many of you may be searching the 'bay for a pair of the S.A. XI's that dropped this weekend.

Please note, the guys over @ e n t e r s p a c e ... do not condone fakes and would never want to put anyone on blast cause there's enough negativity in the world already. We just want to make sure no one cops fakes thinking that they're legit. We seriously hope this seller just doesn't know that these are straight bootleg...

Check out these supposed "Factory Variants" of the XI's. These bootlegs from afar look decent considering how bad some of the fake XI's out in the market look. Dead giveaways that these are bootleg, look at the box and notice it says "Tiker" instead of "Tinker". Secondly its suppose to be "JUMPMAN JORDAN" on the tongue tag not "UUMOMON UOOOON". I'm not gonna lie the bootleggers out in China have seriously stepped up their game in terms of bootleggin but for some reason they still haven't found a way to bootleg the carbon fiber plate on the sole.

P.S. A couple of things to remember when looking for XI's to ensure they're authenticity:

1. Always check the Carbon Fiber Shank on the sole, if it looks painted on and is too uniform it's probably fake
2. Always check the height of the clear sole on the heel, it shouldn't be too low and is typically quite prominent.
3. Always check the height and lettering on the tongue tag. It should typically be found on the third lace eyelets and shouldn't be obstructed from view. Only the Space Jam retros from '00 will say "JUMPMAN JAM", all other models have "JUMPMAN JORDAN" instead ('09 SJ included).
4. Always check the 23 on the ankle area, it's never too big or too wide
5. AND PRICE! If it's too good to be true, it probably is!!!

As most ppl expected, these bad boys sold out within hours of their drop which was expected. To date, 90% of all Air Jordan XI Retro sales have been completed within the first day of their release. To add to the hype, JB recently released news that a special easter egg has been added to this model. Already considered to be the best drop of the S.A. line, JB announced that 25 random pairs of the XI's released worldwide sport a white Jumpman logo and a hidden JB patch under the right insole of the kicks. As most of you may be remember, the XI S.A. general release never sported a Jumpman on the heal.

If you thought the BIN23 or Titaniums were the rarest J's out there, think again... Are YOU the lucky owner of one of these uber rare pair of J's? If you are, be prepared for some serious cashflow if you decide to sell these bad boys. Expect to see the bidding war start on the 'bay shortly...
