P i c k U p s : P A R T V (WC edition)

The boys here at Enterspace are big fans of the beautiful game (footy) so what better way to show that then to showcase some of the new footy boots Nike has recently released. Nike has a tendency to introduce new models and colourways running up to a World Cup and why would this World Cup be any different? The first pair are the Total90 Laser IIIs. The Laser IIs were my boot of choice but with the outdoor season right around the corner, I've decided to upgrade. If the IIIs don't work out I'll have no problems going back to the IIs as I absolutely love them, but for now, they'll be my back ups. These are the first colourway released for the Laser IIIs but two other colourways have since been seen. I have to admit, when I first saw the Electric Green / Red / Black boot on the feet of Wayne Rooney and Fernando Torres, I was not a fan. But oh how they've grown on me. The selling points of the Lasers are (1) greater precision at high velocity created by five pods that create a uniform contact point that creates a smoother surface for even pressure distribution. (2) Enhanced accuracy created by the advanced shape-correcting memory foam which provides a smooth and more consistent surface to enhance accuracy when shooting. And (3) Increased friction which creates more swerve. The raised TPU fins on the medial side of the boot deliver increased friction on ball contact to ensure more swerve.

The next boot up are the Mercurial Vapor VIs. The Vapor VI maintains the popular lace cover from the Vapor IV and Vs and the hollowed out studs decrease weight but maintain structural integrity. The re-designed Vapor Traction pattern lets you dig in and change direction in a split second. The single layer Teijin microfiber upper conforms to your foot’s shape providing solid support and natural comfort. The glass composite tuned chassis provides a lightweight platform, allowing players to stay closer to the ground and traction elements. And the forefoot grip zone adds extra toe-off power for those first critical steps. I would say these boots are for strikers but I have seen some defenders dawn these bad boys. Needless to say, these aren't mine but belong to a friend of mine (who is a striker). As are third and final pair, the Superfly IIs. The Superfly II features a new, unique adaptive traction system designed for explosive acceleration. The Superfly IIs also includes a re-engineered upper for enhanced fit and ball control for fast feet while Nike say the vibrant ultra-violet color boosts visibility on the pitch. Nike designers created an adaptive stud that can extend and retract by up to 3mm, based on ground conditions and pressure exerted by the player. Directionally positioned blades maximize cutting and allow for quick changes of direction, while secondary toe traction provides added toe-off power for those first critical steps. The result is a boot that enables greater speed in all directions. These boots are also bloody light.

t h e y c a l l m e "m o n e y"...

This is no joke... If you've been following the recent events in the fight world you'll know about this weekend's bout between Mosley and Mayweather. So we all know Mayweather talks a big game (he can back it up too) and always talks about how much of a draw he is to the sport. Besides being known as the "Pretty Boy", he's also known as "Money" Mayweather. This has never been more evident than in this upcoming bout.

60M vs 2.7M? WOW...

The internets are going crazy with the new images released for an upcoming Foamposite drop. The BRED Foamposites feature an all black upper with a red translucent sole. Basically Nike decided top retro the Foams they dropped back in 2007 with the solid red sole with a translucent one.

With such a minor change, Nike did it right!

Will YOU be copping?

I don't know bout you but there was a lot of hype in the latter part of 2009 surrounding the AJ VI Infrared rumoured release. As the months passed, JB announced that the AJ VI's would see a Varisty Red release instead and left many Jordanheads disappointed and heated. This decision left many to forgo this purchase as they didn't want to buy a "cheaper" alternative to the real deal. This was apparent with all online retailers having a full size run available even to this day for this colourway.

So we know 2010 is the year of the VI and JB has decided to be so kind and rob bless us with the re-release of the beloved Infrareds in a two pack (Black/Infrareds & White/Infrareds). With a tentative release date of June of this year, many Jordanheads were anticipating images of this release to quench their hunger for this iconic colourway. Most recently, a lot of the sneakerblogs have posted images of the infrareds from the pack which have left a lot of sneakerheads asking themselves what the difference is between these and the varsitys that dropped in January.

In my opinion, I don't really see a major difference between the two with the exception of the shade of red being only a smidgen lighter than the varsitys. I don't know about you but I know many ppl will be coppin these based on the fact that their the infrareds and nothing more. If you ask me, if you already copped a pair of the varsitys I'd save your money for some other retros like the XIII's, XI's or IX's.

What do YOU think? Will YOU be coppin?

P.S. Can you tell if the image posted here is the Varsitys or the Infrareds?

d o n ' t s l e e p: a j i x " c o l u m b i a s"

So you all know that I'm a HUGE Jordanhead and love me a good pair of J's...

My hommie OB told me that you can't be a true Jordanhead without loving all J's, which I happily disagree with. Although I'm an advocate for all J's MJ wore while playing for the Bulls one of the J's he wore during his off-season from basketball never really captured my heart.

For most people, the Air Jordan IX does not really count as a true AJ considering he never stepped on the hardwood with them. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of the silhouette but with the recent resurgence of them in the marketplace I think I may have to change my mind. Most recently we've heard about the BIN23 Lux edition of the IX's which resemble the Marshall Faulk PE Low's released a while back (they sported patent materials instead of the suede in this version) and the more attainable 25th Anniversary edition (white w/silver accents and XXIII sock liner). Believe it or not but this model has seen one of the fewest retros and colourways released to date but like all things JB prepare for that to change this year. We've already heard of the BRED IX's being retroed later this year as well as a new Citrus colourway but one of the colourways set to release in a short time is expected to break some necks. The AJ IX "Columbia's" are scheduled to be released this May and feature a relatively true representation of the OG (w/ the exception of the Columbia blue being a smidgen lighter than the original). This particular colourway has never been retroed before and will appease many collectors who slept on them or need a next pair. If you own a pair of the retros you'll recognize these bad boys as the pair that MJ is rocking on the retro card in his Alma Mater uniform.

We'll keep you posted on the drop date as it approaches. Will YOU be coppin?

P i c k U p s : P A R T IV

Easter long weekend has been great, weather is bumpin and we get an extra day for our weekend. Today is only Sat and we still have a whole day left!

Considering that it was gonna be killer weather and a long weekend, I linked up with my boy and decided to roam the streets of downtown T.O. We hit up some patios and snapped up some pics of the city while making a stop @ Livestock. As usual, Livestock was bumpin on the weekend and they happened to have re-up on their AJKOs. As you may have recalled, JB dropped these gems last week and they were snatched up quick both online and within the city. During my visit to Livestock I grabbed my pair and am happy to say that these kicks do not disappoint. If you're into the classics and appreciate a nice lookin pair of J's, these are a must. With the recent Jordans being released, I haven't been very impressed as they're becoming more and more corny in terms of design and colourway. The AJKOs keep it old school and really make you appreciate the iconic silhouette that these shoes have. The guys @ Livestock told me that their re-up from Thursday is drying up quick so make sure you hit them up soon to secure your pair. With that being said I've added a second pair to my 6 via "The Challenge"

Peep the pics and judge for yourself if these were 6 worthy!

BONUS: Update on the "The Challenge"

1. Adidas ZX Boat - "Yoda" (Adidas)
2. Air Jordan I Retro KO Hi (Jordan Brand)
3. Air Jordan XI Retro - "Concords" (Jordan Brand)
4.
Air Jordan VI Retro - "White\Varsity-Red" (Jordan Brand)
5. Air Jordan XIII Retro - "White\Varsity-Red" (Jordan Brand)
